Welcome to The Bakery Cottages, a peaceful retreat in the heart of historic Ophir.

We offer a charming bed and breakfast experience, perfect for a relaxing getaway or a comfortable stopover on the Central Otago Rail Trail.

Our three cottages—the Bakery Cottage 1, Bakery Cottage 2, and the Miners Hut—are lovingly restored 19th-century schist buildings. While they retain their original character, they're set amongst a beautiful garden, offering a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Inside, you'll find everything you need to unwind, including a wood burner to keep you warm and snug on chilly nights.

Enjoy ultimate privacy during your stay - we offer exclusive bookings, meaning when you reserve any of our charming cottages, we will block out the others ensuring you have the cottages to yourselves.
